and what now?

"But you can't just give up on the music scene!" - said my friend Kerry to me. Well maybe I could....Maybe I could just forget it all. I don't know.

I mean, I don't think I am giving up on it. If I ever give up on what's my passion then I would lose part of myself too and that wouldn't be good. It's just that these last few weeks I got tired with things that I've been doing for months now. I got tired of chasing people and dragging them to shows with me and then try and talk about what each song that I heard meant to me when no one really knows what I'm blabbing about (so pathetic).
And again even when I go to those shows and listen to all those bands (it seems like there's no end to it) I simply don't find myself amazed by what I hear. I'm not impressed. It doesn't take my breath away. It's just the sound and some good rhythm but no soul, no words that touch your heart...I was never really into things that most people are....In most cases if a lot of people like one band I for sure will not like it as much...it's just the way it goes...
Me of all people who's been opsessed with this music scene missed every single NXNE show...On Friday there was a specific band playing at the Bovine. I was looking forward to it for weeks...And then on that same day I came from work and told myself: "Dee you don't really have that need to go, you simply don't care even if you have a freaking pass"....So I decided to forget it all and stay home. I didn't miss it at all....
I could see the whole thing in my head. Same old crowded places, band playing on the stage with the bad sound most of the times because sound check people suck in most venues anyway. And then it's the music that leaves me uninspired. I hear others saying -oh the show was great and bla bla....And I don't want to say anything because most of the times I only say it was good but not great.....I think I need a break..LOL...I am tired of what I've been hearing and seeing for the last few months. However, I will still make an effort to see musicians such as Clifton David, Lye, or Tenth Planet...I really need another amazing Powderfinger concert. They are my inspiration and reason why I started with this whole music scene anyway...Australia seems so far away...

"That sounds like you are giving up! So what are you going to do instead?" - added my friend
I don't know...I need some time off...there's plenty of other things I want to do but at this right moment I need some change. I'm burned out....I get tired and bored with things...I have to go away from it in order to get my energy back and find things, that I once loved so much, interesting again....

"I just dont want you to give up on an opportunity that could lead to something" - he said
Time will show... That's the only thing I can say....I'll find myself again....eventually:-))

It sounds to me you do need some break from all that. You can do much more reading books about music then going to the shows.
At least when you read books no one is bothering you. Maybe once summer hits you'll go back to concerts.
Powderfinger seems to be broken up? What's that about The Predators???? Did you see that bulletin the other day? What does it mean????

Well I decided to do it this way...lol...I was too lazy to log in so I'll do it this way:-)

What about the Predators? I didn't see or read anything...

NO Powderfinger is not broken up. This year they started working on new album so it means I may as well wait until next year to see them....boo hooo...just when I started loving them so much...This waiting will never be over..

I am telling you. I'm serious. PD posted a bulletin saying that they made another band which constists of that drummer, some original singer of PD (?) and i don't know who else and that they are calling it The Predators.
??????

I found the bulletin. You might understand it more than i do.

"The Predators consist of JC and Haugy from Powderfinger and original Powderfinger singer Bish on vocals

Well yes I know that they all have side projects. Darren their lead guitarist has his own band for years but he is still in Powderfinger, same goes for other guitarist and even Bernard does his solo stuff. They are all extremely talented and creative and it would be impossible for them to just focus on Powderfinger. I still think Powderfinger will come out with the new album that they are working on at the moment...:-)

That makes sense. I know Rammstein guys want to space out to do their separate stuff. Even Richard from R+ already has a band. :(
I just hope no one splits!

Hopefully not. You and I need our Powderfinger and Rammstein to keep us sane.....ohh how thee love them...:D

I don't know why they need other things to occupy them besides their own bands. They should just stay together, unconditionally, until they decide one day they don't want to make music anymore.
I know PF and R+ have lasting, staying power. We love them for a reason! :D
XOXO

They should definetely come here to visit! I have a spare bedroom hahahahahahaaha
There is still talk of R+ coming here in 2007! I sure hope so!
