I came by these pictures last week while looking for something else. And that's how I found these cool pictures of Stuart Sutcliffe whom they call the "lost Beatle" or the 5th one when actually he was one of the founding members of the Beatles and best friend of John Lennon. He met the young German photographer Astrid Kirchnerr when he was in Hamburg and they both fell in love.
He left the Beatles to puruse his painting career. He was very talented artist and had this James Dean look about him. Unfortunately he died when he was 21 years old after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He died in Astrid's arms on their way to the hospital. I love these pictures taken by Astrid and it's yet another music/art love story with even more sad ending.
